THOMAS filed a third application on 29 July 1879, again as a demande de brevet de perfectionnement of the patent application filed on 6 May 1879. It carried the title of:
Perfectionnements dans la fabrication de l’acier et du fer fondu
On 1 August 1879, THOMAS filed a further application for a brevet de perfectionnement relating to the same invention (see No 243).
The two applications were merged and issued as a single, combined patent on 28 September 1880 under the 1880 Patent Law. [3]
